Le Forem lance son enquête BMO 2027 pour anticiper les besoins RH des entreprises wallonnes

The Forem, in collaboration with UCM and AKT, is launching the second edition of its Workforce Needs (BMO) 2027 survey among 74,000 Walloon companies to anticipate their recruitment and training requirements.

The main objective of this survey, initiated by the Minister of Employment and Training, Pierre-Yves JEHOLET, is to enable Forem to better understand the profiles sought, the jobs offering the best chances of reintegration into the labor market, and to effectively address labor shortages. Companies are invited to respond in a maximum of 10 to 15 minutes, specifying their hiring intentions, HR strategies, and recruitment difficulties encountered.
A major new feature for the 2027 edition is the inclusion of a section dedicated to identifying available internship positions. This initiative aims to strengthen apprenticeships and in-company training, as training programs that include an internship show an 8 percentage point higher employment integration rate. Nearly 40% of interns directly find a job opportunity with their host employer.
Lessons learned from the 2026 BMO survey have already identified nearly 90,000 positions as the primary HR needs expressed by companies. Forecasts for the entirety of 2026 predict 352,000 positions. Between January and the end of September 2026, Forem disseminated 316,996 job opportunities, a 5.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025. During this period, 59 'Shortage Blitzes' were organized and 130 Jobdays were held.

"To solve a problem, you need to understand it better. That is the whole point of this BMO tool that UCM has championed for years and that we are proud to see grow since last October."

Pierre-Frédéric NYST · President of UCM
Pierre-Yves JEHOLET, Minister of Economy, Industry, Digital, Employment, and Training, emphasizes the survey's importance for anticipating shortages and strengthening apprenticeships. Finally, Frédéric PANIER, CEO of AKT, reminds that companies are best placed to identify their needs and that the results of the first edition helped identify 69 new jobs in shortage.
