Following an evaluation of the existing regulations, the National Labour Council issued, on October 27, 2026, opinion n° 2.502. This opinion sets the period for the next social elections, which will be held from May 15 to 28, 2028.
These elections, held every four years, aim to designate worker representatives to company councils and committees for the prevention and protection of workers. The Council has also put forward proposals to improve the electoral procedure.
On the instructions of the Minister of Employment, this opinion will be transposed into a draft law that will follow the usual legislative process.
