To this end, Brussels Mobility, in partnership with the CRR, is updating the STAPAS database, which inventories the pedestrian network of the Brussels-Capital Region. This project goes beyond a simple inventory update.
Thanks to a new digital application developed on Mergin Maps, field observations can now be recorded, geolocated, and directly integrated into a shared database. This innovative approach allows for continuous network monitoring.
This tool assists managers in planning maintenance interventions, improving accessibility, and prioritizing investments. It could also serve as a model for other cities and administrations facing similar challenges.
